PM's Grip On Gujarat, BJP Won Polls Even After Bridge Collapse": Minister

The BJP's spectacular victory within the Gujarat elections was regardless of the collapse of a bridge within the state, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad mentioned at this time, taking a veiled dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's opponents.

The BJP received all 26 seats in Gujarat within the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls.

"The Congress and its allies were confidence of defeating the BJP in Gujarat after the elections were announced. They were confident that the BJP would not get more than 15 seats in the state. But the BJP's spectacular victory has shattered their confidence," the minister mentioned at a press convention in Patna.

He mentioned the BJP's victory was a "failure" of the Congress's technique to play up the Patidar quota agitation and the state authorities's "track record" of growth.

The BJP's victory within the latest elections was a "mandate" for Prime Minister Modi's growth agenda, he mentioned.
